IVD Gesellschaft für Innovative
Veterinärdiagnostik mbH

Accreditiation

The IVD Innovative Veterinary Diagnostics was founded in 1997 as an affiliated institute of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover and has operated independently since 2006.

As early as 2003, it applied for accreditation according to the requirements of the European DIN standard EN/IEC ISO 17025 for testing and calibration laboratories and was accredited by the Accreditation Body (AKS) in Hanover. Since then, IVD GmbH has conducted its laboratory activities as an accredited laboratory.

The competence, impartiality, and quality of the laboratory's work are regularly confirmed in assessments by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS).

The focus of the tests is serological and molecular biological testing for the diagnosis of infectious diseases in farm animals, particularly pigs and ruminants, but also horses, poultry, dogs, cats, and exotic animals (reptiles and amphibians).

In addition, IVD GmbH offers pig necropsies with pathomorphological assessment and targeted organ harvesting for further examinations, as well as histological and immunohistological examinations. IVD also conducts bacteriological and parasitological examinations of animal material.

The goal of IVD is to be a constructive and independent partner in animal health for veterinarians, farmers, and industrial partners alike
– providing reliable test results and expert advice.
